Day 185 : Summary
Spent the evening traveling back from San Antonio, TX so no workout tonight. I will probably take tomorrow night off too since JD and I are doing our Triathlete.FM show after work.

Boy I sure didn’t feel like it, but made it for another run on the treadmill. A long day of work and being really tired don’t make for a great combo when you’re training that is for sure.
Made time to hit the treadmill tonight (out of town on business and not a good area for outside activites) and some pushups and situps.
I am most happy about my eating discipline tonight. Wanted to just order a pizza, but headed out to a local grocery store and got low fat tortillas, grilled chicken and salsa for a 220 calorie burrito. I have to say, it was quite awesome!
Through Wednesday, I’m going to be limited to the treadmill and small hotel gym, but it’s more than enough to get in a good workout.
Well, I am not happy with the amount of workouts I did this week, but I have to say, if I am not ready for IMFL now, working out like a madman this close to the event isn’t going to make me ready.
I got in about 40 mins of workout tonight after getting to San Antonio. Not much, but at least it was something.
Even thought I plan to workout most of the week, I have to go into taper mode and let my body be 100% for 11/7. I think I will do shorter and lower intensity workouts, but I would like to workout at least 5 days next week. The week after that I will go down to 3…and probably only do 2 or 3 workouts the week going into the event.
Final day of rest. Spending time with the family and going to the Georgia Tech football game tonight. Go Jackets!
I will be traveling tomorrow, but I WILL find time to get in at least 45 mins to workout.
It’s hard to believe that I have been doing this for 180 days!
In thinking about it, it feels like it was just yesterday that I was signing up to do this whole thing. I have to say that I have accomplished a lot more than I thought I would and I am happy with my progress. Before, the journey was getting in better shape, but now, I really think I will be hugely disappointed if I don’t finish the full Ironman.
That’s not an option.
Right knee is feeling a little tweaked again so going to take it easy for a few days. It’s going to be hard to get in workouts this week with demands from the job and crappy weather.
I am not going to stress about it. It’s been suggested that I need to back down the workouts a bit anyway, and I don’t want to push myself into an injury this close to the finish line.
With IMFL just a few weeks away, I do feel like I am ready.
Super great run tonight. A strong 5 miles and I did it faster than ever before. The weather was perfect. Overcast and very misty to rainy.
I need to get in some swim time in the next week or so, but I am not sure how that’s going to happen. Our weather here hasn’t been the greatest.
Feeling a bit sore from the long wrong outside, so I’ll probably take a couple days for rest. It’s amazing how I can tell that my leg muscles get such a deeper workout from running outside. The calves are screaming!
