Week 28 / Day 196 : Summary

The last week of training is done and it’s hard to believe I am saying that.  It seems just like yesterday I was starting this whole thing and the big day is less than a week away.

My neighbor asked me if I felt like I had accomplished my goal at this point, since the whole reason for starting this crazy journey was to change my lifestyle and become a healthier person.  I do indeed feel like I have succeeded in achieving that goal, but I think there will still be a lot of disappointment if I don’t end up finishing IMFL.  I am as ready as I can be so short of breaking a leg or having my bike crack in half, I am going to finish.

I had an enjoyable workout today, which started off with a bike ride in the gorgeous sunny weather we had today.  I purposefully left of my bike computer behind so I wasn’t tempted to push myself.  Today’s ride was  just about getting out there to stretch my legs and making sure my recent tire work was good to go.

Later in the evening, I went for an easy run on the treadmill just to get the blood flowing.  I barely ran hard enough to break a sweat, which is about all I wanted to do.

This will be an easy week of rest and good eating.
